Words simply slip slide away,
whispering at our edges
like leaves sifting in the wind.
My breath pulses pink,
ripe as a hummingbird’s gorget
rosy-ing the air we share
We bloom together.
Sowing the liminal space between us
with fragrant furling vines
that twine our limbs and whims
My leaves unfurl to shelter his dreams,
His roots uncurl to anchor my needs
And together, forever, we bloom as we breathe
Prompt: Write a love poem!
